WOOD MODELS by Doug Kenney

SCALED REPRODUCTIONS of VINTAGE TRAINS,
FIRE ENGINES,
SUNDIALS AND SOLAR CALENDARS

 SUNDIALS & SOLAR CALENDARS

I have PARTS and PLANS for 5 different
SUNDIALS and SOLAR CALENDARS.
Pictured below are different styles of sundials.
They display time of day.

EQUATORIAL SUNDIAL

HORIZONTAL SUNDIAL

The equatorial dial is universal, because its gnomon
adjusts to any world latitude!

The horizontal dial has a "fixed" gnomon that's angled to a
specific latitude.

Pictured below are two styles of solar calendars.
They display what week it is.
SOLAR CALENDAR
The shadow displayed by the solar calendar (below)
points to one of  52 weeks of the year.

MEMORIAL DIAL
The Memorial Dial (below) is a combination of sundial AND
calendar. The shadow cast by its gnomon displays the
time of day and concurrently, a  ray of sunlight  points to a
special date, such as a  BIRTHDAY  or  ANNIVERSARY!
